Ekali Gift Box
In Greek ancestry, Ekali was an elderly woman who accommodated Theseus at her house while he was on his way to kill the wild bull of Marathon. Known for her hospitality, and gratitude, acquainted with herbs, she expressed herself by cooking what was popular in those days: raw ingredients, boiled or pickled. A local festivity to worship her was established and the area was named after her, thus making Ekali suburb one of the historic municipalities of Athens.
